Check out Eric's new big boy bed!!!
Eric has always been our angel sleeper! Put him in his crib and he's out like a light until morning. Boy has that changed! I want milk, books, rub my back, sing me songs, more milk!
Because of this, Daddy and I were a bit scared to get him a big boy bed! If he was standing in his crib coming up with a million excuses, what would he do if he had the freedom to get out?!?
We tried out his bed for the first time during nap time! He did excellent!!! However, he practically volunteers to take naps! The true test would be that night, when it was "nite nite" time!
We gave him a kiss goodnight, and didn't hear a word from him for the next 10 minutes! This was too good to be true! So, Daddy peeks in on him and sure enough he's not in his bed! He's sitting in his pile of books flipping through the pages!
He had a priceless smile on his face when we entered his room! He knew he shouldn't be out of bed, but he was loving the freedom to do so! So, we told him he was allowed to get up to get a book, but he had to bring it back to his bed to read them. Sure enough, he fell sleep with three books in his bed!
The freedom was exactly what he needed!
It's been almost a week now and he's been doing excellent! He now sleeps with a pillow and blanket like a big boy!
He knows he's not allowed to come out of his room once we kiss him goodnight and keep his door slightly opened. So, he's been known to read us books from his door way, slowly crack the door open a bit more and peek his head out just to give us a little smile, and shut the door completely after saying to us... "good night, I luv you!"
In the middle of the night he'll still call for us to get him some milk, but in the morning, he'll tip toe into our room and crawl into bed with us, or stand there by the side of the bed and softly say, "Mommy" to wake us!
We've loved every second of him having a big boy bed! On his second night he woke at 1:15 for some milk. When I tucked him in and he went back to bed with his pillow under his head, blanket keeping him warm, and his arm hugging his snugs, I was so happy for him that I could not fall back to sleep until 3:30!!!

We couldn't be happier to see how happy you are to have a new found freedom! But more so, we are excited to see that you handle that freedom so well! It just shows what a big boy you are becoming! We are very, very, excited for you!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
