Happy Father's Day!!!

Father's day didn't go quite as I had planned.

-Paul accidentally opened his Fathers Day card well before Fathers Day (when we got a Snapfish package he thought it was the pictures we ordered)
-A routine Dr. appointment with Eric took much longer than expected, so I didn't have time to run and get him a present before he got home from work.
-And Eric got sick, so I had to cancel his surprise dinner reservations.

However, it somehow turned out the be the most meaningful Father's Day ever.

At 2 am Saturday morning, I woke to the sound of Eric pretty restless in his crib. In doing this, I noticed he was extremely hot. I too was half asleep, so I thought it might have just been the side he was just sleeping on. I did the usual, give him his pacifier and turn on the fan to the AC. After a couple min. of this not working, I checked on him again, this time more awake. Turned out he had a fever of 102.2.

So Paul and I called the Dr., gave him Tylenol, and had a constant cold press on his head (which he loved) and kept an eye on him till morning. As per the Dr. request, we brought him in to the Dr. the first thing in the morning.

This was an extremely difficult appointment to get trough. Eric let out cries that have never been heard in his whole 7 3/4 month life. On top of wanting to cry for our baby, we get the news that they were testing him for Influenza. If tested positive for type A, and only type A, he'd have to be treated for the Swine flu (as a precaution).

Tests results were supposed to be back in 2 hours, meaning we'd know by 1-ish. Instead, we got a call at 7:30 at night. He was negative for both, type A and B of Influenza.

No card could ever make us feel the way we did at that moment. No gift purchased at a store could give us the same feeling. And no restaurant could ever make us as happy as that one word, negative, did.

Hug your babies, wives, husbands, parents, and siblings. Be thankful you have your health. And be sure to keep those that don't, in your prayers.

Happy Fathers Day everyone!!! Especially to Eric's Daddy. Who is there for him in every way imaginable! And to our Dads, who are there for us in every way imaginable!

It's given Mommy time to organize/back up all her pictures so we can "finally" hook up our new computer we got *cough* before I was born. She thought that might make you happy! hehehe!
