Their visit meant one thing was for sure... there was going to be lots and lots of laughing! And it all started with playing Apples To Apples!
As we played, it stormed in the distance, making for some amazing cloud formations that were lit up by the lightning traveling through them!
The laughing continued as we headed to our favorite breakfast place, First Watch! Surprisingly, not one of us cleared our plate! *wink* *wink*
Thanks to Kim's floating skills, Andrea's hand stands, and Jessi's and my fear of getting sun burned, the laughing continued all the way to the water!
Laughing wasn't really the word to describe how Andrea and myself were feeling the moment we arrived at the beach to do some early morning shell searching! Turns out we could have slept in a lot longer, it was still pitch black out! Hahaha!
As the sun started to rise, we started to search!
I submitted this photo into a contest being held by our local newspaper and won! It made it into the paper! :)
As we were searching for shells, Andrea came across a perfect shell! And to our surprise, it was the home to this cute little guy!
It's not too often we get up early enough to make it to the beach to watch the sun rise, but it's definitely something I want to start doing more often. It was so peaceful and so beautiful...
Though, next time I will reconsider bringing my camera in the water with me. The picture on the right is my lens halfway under the wave that snuck up on me! Yes I panicked, and yes, I am very thankful it didn't completely go under!
Next stop...our old stomping grounds!!! It was here we reminisced how hard we laughed all four (five for some of us, OK, maybe just one of us) years we spent here together!
